A developer of an under-construction 14-storey building in Sector 84.

Jaypee Sports City :- A developer of an under-construction 14-storey building in Sector 84, produced a stay order from a civil court on Saturday to prevent a joint team of Noida Authority and Uttar Pradesh police from sealing it.

Officials said they will examine the validity of the stay order before taking any action. But the incident has sacred the buyers, who had booked flats in the building.

Authority officials said the developer has not acquired the five-acre land, on which he is building the project, hence the project is illegal.

"We will examine the court order produced by the developer of Kaveri apartments on Monday. If it is genuine, we will approach the court to have it removed, so that the authority can reclaim the plot," said Akhilesh Singh, DCEO, Noida Authority.

Explaining the modus operandi of such illegal constructions, Singh said, "Either the developer gets his layout plan passed by bribing zila panchayat staff, or uses the zamindari act to regularize a plot as abadi, in which case there is no need to get the layout plan passed."

Two weeks ago, Noida police, following directions of Authority chairman Rama Raman, lodged an FIR against the developer of Pratham Heights, who had proposed his project on a 2,000 sq m plot in Sector 121, but investigations revealed it falls under khasra number 118 in Parthla village.

SSP Preetinder Singh said flats in such projects are sold between Rs 30 and Rs 40 lakh, nearly half the cost charged by authorized developers

TOI has regularly highlighted such large-scale malpractices in Noida, especially in areas such as Sarfabad, Baraula, Salarpur, Sorkha and Sector 151, Noida. for more info about residential and commercial property in noida visit jaypee sports city projects.
